Find Your More

Development-Focused Rugby for Young Women Who Aspire to the Next Level

Let’s Go Places

“The Loggers are driven to help young women thrive in rugby and take their game to the next level. Whether your goal is to improve decision making, be recruited for a university, enter the USA National Team pathway, or compete at the highest club or professional level – we are dedicated to each girl’s personal journey through rugby.“

Who We Are

The PNW Loggers have maintained a reputation in the competitive rugby community for high-quality playing and traveling team culture since their start in 2010.

Traditionally comprised of athletes from club teams all over the region, the Loggers program has also acted as the first rugby experience to a handful of crossover athletes in recent years.

Our goal is to help young female rugby athletes ‘Find Your More.’ More opportunities, more exposure, more reps, more friends, more coaching, more minutes, and more moments they’ll remember.

Our coaches are dedicated to developing each individual by providing opportunities for players to express themselves both on and off the field in order for them to discover their full potential through rugby. Our sessions are tailored to meet the needs of every player as well as the team as a whole. To accomplish this, we are constantly adapting and improving our programming based on the players currently involved with the team.

Where We Compete

The Girls’ program participates in three different core competitions throughout the year:

1. Development camps and opportunities throughout the year

2. Member State Regional Selects challenges starting after the spring season

3. International competition vs Canadian Select teams

Each of these tournaments provides new opponents, higher competition, and hosts scouts from collegiate, university, and USA Rugby age-grade programs. We are looking to expand on these opportunities as the program and competition evolves.

Who Can Join

We currently focus on players enrolled in high school (U16 & U18), however younger players are encouraged to contact the coaches to attend trainings as we strive to grow the program to include a U14 squad.

Tryouts are held for all those interested in wearing the Loggers jersey, even if they have not played rugby in the past. These sessions will be communicated via Facebook, Instagram, and email when schedules are released. Based on these tryouts, selections will be made accordingly..

Traveling Squad

These players will be our main group of players chosen to represent the Girls PNW Loggers for the corresponding competition preparation.

Traveling Squad players must be available for majority of trainings and the weekend of competition.

Practice Squad

Competing at the Canadian Western Provinces All Star Tournament, 2022.

These players will continue their development at trainings and help the Traveling Squad in preparation for the according competition. Practice Squad players must be available to join the Traveling Squad if a traveling player is not able to attend the competition for reasons such as family emergencies, injuries, etc. If this situation does occur, the player asked to join the Traveling Squad will be based on performance at trainings along with positional considerations. It is important Practice Squad players are committed to trainings and to the potential of travel.

Development Squad (sometimes)

The Loggers are passionate about developing players at all levels. The Development Squad will provide the opportunity for those who were not selected for competition to still train and work on their development. Attending trainings will also give players a leg up for the next competition tryouts

The Loggers training sessions are free, and players will only be asked for payment if selected to a Traveling Squad. Cost will vary per tournament and will be communicated as early as possible. We never want finances to stand in the way of opportunities, so please reach out to coaches to discuss payment plans, fundraising, and/or scholarships. Thank you to the generosity of our partners, community, and coaches for making this possible.

No matter where a player comes from or where their current goals are taking them, the Loggers are here to help every player Find Their More.

“There is opportunity here, for everyone, from anywhere — no matter what.”
