Development-Focused Rugby for Young Men Who Aspire to the Next Level

Let’s Go Places

“We’ll help you thrive in rugby now, and take it to another level. Whether your goal is the USA Eagles or Olympics, age-grade national team, top collegiate program, club or professional rugby — we’re committed to players who make commitments, to themselves and others.”

Boys Rugby

The Loggers boys feature u14, JV (U16) and Varsity (U18) sides, playing both 7s and XVs.

Our commitment is to prepare players for a higher level of competition and total enjoyment of the game. Typically, the brute force approach that works in domestic leagues becomes a significant liability when players reach the next level, where players are exceptionally fast, fit, strong and skilled.

The Loggers play fast, running rugby. That means our lads will train hard and challenge themselves to learn the game and master techniques under the physical and mental load of competition. We call it ‘serious fun.’

Training begins with pre-season camps in Oct/Nov/Dec. Further training sessions run concurrent with the club/school season. There is an intensive series of sessions leading into our late-spring/summer competition window. In a typical year a boys player will train/play 19-21 days additional to their club schedule. Those training sessions are scheduled to eliminate conflict with ‘club’ obligations, and to provide players with proper rest intervals.

Selections are made by an independent panel, based on objective and subjective criteria. Players are regularly measured on things like cardio fitness, strength and skills. They are also assessed on observed effort, decision-making, discipline, communication and ‘projection’ – where they factor over time.

The panel is overseen by the program’s director, a non-selecting participant who assures that player evaluations are consistent, meaningful, complete, equitable and transparent. As a player-centered club, the director represents the player’s interests to the selection committee and serves as an ombudsman for the players to the coaching staff.

The Loggers do not care what club a player plays for. Every single player will receive a fair opportunity to compete.

If a player is not selected for an individual tournament – we still want them to continue training. Players will not improve if they are ‘cut’, so we want them to continue to challenge themselves and be ready for the next opportunity and/or season. The Loggers will be selective – not exclusive. We want players to keep at it!

The Loggers training programs are free. No player will be denied the opportunity to play based on family financial circumstance. Thank you to the generosity of our partners for making this possible.

“There is opportunity here, for everyone, from anywhere — no matter what.”
